Taking the pill 8 hours late?

I have been on the generic version of Sprintec, a combined pill, for about a year now. Some days if I'm in a rush I forget to take my pill before class and just take it later when I get home. My boyfriend and I live a few hours from each other. He visited for a couple of days and we had sex around the day I would be ovulating if not on the pill. On that day I took my pill about 8 hours late. AF is due Saturday but I have had undeniable pregnancy symptoms and I'm almost convinced I may be pregnant, although I've always heard taking the combined pill at the same time everyday really isn't a big deal. Got a negative test yesterday. Could I have ovulated that day and gotten pregnant or is it unlikely?
