IUD insertion??

i'm getting the hormonal Skyla on wednesday. anyone have any advice or words of wisdom? or even encouragement lol

Eat and take a significant amount of ibuprofen beforehand. I think I took about 1200 mg before and about 800 or so every 6ish hours. I know that's a lot but my periods are crazy so take whatever would be normal amounts for you. I'd also suggest having someone drive you home. You may not need this but clearing out the rest of the day or even the day after might be a good idea. Just resting and napping helped me a lot. Also stock up on pads and liners. The actual pain really only lasts a few seconds and after that it's just cramps. Good luck!
