I came from a family where my parents are divorced, but me and my spouse have a strong marriage. We are both determined to make it work and that just makes us have a deeper connection.

My mom is on her 3rd marriage. I am on my second, honestly I feel a lot goes into that decision. Our bio dad cheated on her constantly, her 2nd husband was an alcoholic.    My ex husband was verbally abusive, I didn't understand what marriage was either at the time. I do think kids base their relationship on what they see, but I have met some who have strong marriages regardless of their parents.

My husband and i both come from divorced homes.   We have a really strong marriage now but it wasn't always like that.   2 years in we started marriage counseling bc i told him i wanted a divorce.   After a year of trying to "make things work", we separated.   Three months later we were back together and have never been happier.   I believe we have one of the strongest marriages of anyone we know.   10 year anniversary next year and we're just now ttc our first :)

Growing up they stayed together when they shouldn't have - my dad abused us. She only just now left him (and I'm 22, out of the house). So I wish they had divorced long ago.
