Are nail salons safe for babies?

Crystal • High school sweethearts who never fell out of love.
I'm in desperate need of a pedicure and usually go when my husband gets off early from work. Well that isn't happening anytime soon and I can't stand to go on weekends. I've seen other people take their little ones to the nail salons, but I've always been paranoid. The smell in my salon isn't crazy, it more of a hint, almost not nocticable. But yet here I am, lol, asking because I just want to know for sure. 
*Getting a sitter for an hour doesn't work for me since the only person who can watch her during the day is across town from me 😔
