pacifier & swaddling problems 😫

My son is almost 4 months old and has had a pacifier since he was born.  He use it mostly for bedtime to help him fall asleep. He slept through the night since he was a month old (in a winged swaddle) but for the past month he has been waking up through the night anywhere between 5-15 times, some nights it's every half an hour 😭 when he wakes he sort of softly cries and starts stirring and it gradually gets louder and louder and he wakes himself up more and more the longer I leave him (I've tried just leaving him to put himself back to sleep but it went on for half an hour and he ended up fully waking up and was a nightmare to put back to sleep) if I get to him before this happens I just put his paci back in and he falls back to sleep instantly. He doesn't wake up every time the paci falls out, he wakes himself up by touching his face (through the winged swaddle). A few nights ago I swaddled him properly so his hands were wrapped up and he only woke up once which was AMAZING but I only did this for one night as he is starting to roll over and needs to be able to use his arms. I'm so exausted from broken sleep and just want him to sleep through the night like he used to. 😩 does anyone have any tips? I'm at my wits end.
