It depends on the method of birth control. Birth control has hormones so it makes your body change but it's not like you'll gain 20 lbs! If anything it may be like 5 tops

When I was on the pill I lost weight but I always forgot to take it (thank god I wasn't sexually active then) but I went on the shot 3 months ago and I've gained weight.. I won't be getting another shot but it's for other reasons besides just the weight gaining. But every birth control affects everyone a little different. We're all so unique.

You usually only gain weight on birth control because of increase of appetite so if you can keep it under control it shouldn't be a problem. Loss of appetite can also be a side effect so it can go either way or none at all.
