What should I expect for the first time having sex after giving birth? How long did you wait?

It's very different for everyone, but we waited the six weeks until I got cleared by my doctor. It was pain free, which surprised me. We used lube and went slow.

I waited almost 9 weeks since I have a uterine prolapse but got the OK from my doctor at 6 weeks. I drank enough vodka to loosen me up, which helped my nerves. We used lots of lube and knew beforehand that if it hurt we'd stop. He wasn't out of me and I was already telling him that we were going for round 2 haha

I had an emergency csection so it took me about 3 months to even feel like myself again. We had sex at almost 3.5 months pp. we used a condom and lube but it was still a bit sore during.

We waited 5.5 weeks (a few days before I got doctor approval) and it HURT. It was in the moment and completely not planned. I had a c section so was not expecting pain, but boy was it painful. It took a few times to start feeling normal again. I think my body was still just healing. I recommend taking it slow. Eventually it will be just like before baby!
