How will I manage?

Question

I'm 36 weeks pregnant today, and I'm just starting to feel overwhelmed.  Not about the pregnancy; I'm so ready for baby girl to get here.  But I just found out yesterday that my dad has cancer.  My parents live in a rural town and treatment is not available there, so I insisted that my father come live with my husband and I while he undergoes radiation therapy since we live in a city where the treatment is readily available.  I live in Canada so my maternity leave is for 1 year and I will be able to take him to his appointments and treatments.  My question is: how do I take care of a newborn and my father without getting frazzled?  Also, my husband just got laid off from work and has been depressed about it.  I'm helping him prep for interviews and I know he will get another job no problem, but I just feel like I'm going to fail miserably at handling everything.

Oh god I can I understand ur situation, myself I am kind of the same situation n yesterday I was crying thinking how am I going to survive it, 
My father in law also was very sick also (kidney failure) and he lived in rural also so we transported him to were we live but upon his arrival his sister(my hubby Aunty) requested to stay with him which it's okay regarding my situation, but when they went to hospital it was decided that his kidneys does not function at all so he must be put on dialysis treatment which means he will be staying in the hospital n it might take even 6month, and in their family there are only two men my brother in law who is staying at rural, n my hubby, so that means he is the only one who can stay with him and taking care of him, it's has been a week now n I can see how exhausted he is, now I am wondering what will happen when the baby is here, 
I pray n hopping that we survive all, this is our First n we were so excited oh god I pray this child to be okay and safe.

You've got this. I know it won't feel like it all the time but you do. I looked after my mum when she was ill (she needed a transplant) as well as my elderly grandfather and whilst it can feel completely overwhelming at times, you just find a way to do it.

The best advice I can give is to take time for yourself when you can, you are important too. If someone offers to help out or to babysit, let them. You're no good to anyone burnt out.

That's an awful lot of stuff to handle at once! I'm sorry about your dad being sick and I hope your husband finds a job soon too. Just be easy with yourself. It's gonna be a pretty stressful time but just remind yourself that you're human and that it's okay to be overwhelmed when you are. And don't be afraid to ask for help if and when you need it on any front. I wish you and your family the best! ❤️

That's a lot to handle . only take on what you can . do not overload yourself . being a new mother you are already going to be in overload . take it one day at a time . I'm going through a lot with my dad getting out of rehab the DAY I am being induced and I get so overwhelmed with everything that's going on to top that off that sometimes I just have to scream and let it all out.

It's just one day at a time and one foot in front of the other. Looking at the big picture is overwhelming. I have two beautiful daughters a baby boy on the way and I take care of my grandparents bc my dad is a low life who isn't good for anything. I had to quite my job as a pediatric nurse early in this pregnancy due to severe HG. Which made things a little more manageable since I'm not juggling work too, but budgeting is now a little tricky. But My grandparents rely on me to take them to dr appointments (neither drive any more), med refills, grocery shopping, even going through mail and going to the bank,  they rely on me. It's tough and some days I'm just so tiered but I wouldn't change it. I know when I'm old I hope someone cares enough for me to put up with me and take care of me instead of just sticking me in a home and forgetting about me. You can do it, some days you'll wonder how and you may get down and cry (i do) but you'll pull yourself together and find strength to get it done. Be proud and give yourself credit!
