Is it ok to dye your hair if you use a cap?

I usually have highlights using foil wraps but to avoid getting any dye near my scalp I've booked in for cap highlights next week. (I'll be 6 1/2 weeks) Is it safe? Or is it best to avoid hair dye altogether in the first trimester?

I'm a hairstylist, and work with color all the time. My doctor just told me to wear gloves. You should be fine with getting foil highlights, a cap is going to hurt and be a much longer process. At least 3 of my coworkers have worked throughout their whole pregnancies with no issue, and they have more exposure than you would in one appointment.
