UK Midwife Appointment

Hiya just a question for UK parents I know GPs will vary but just wondering..

I rang my GP and the receptionist told me i dont need to see the doctor but she will make an app with the midwife for me. So I am booked in for the 14th, can my SO come with me? Or will she want to see me in private? Has anyone else took their partners with them ? Xx
