Tell them I pregnant?

Okay so I'm almost 11 weeks and trying to find a job, do I tell them I'm pregnant at the interview or wait?

Wait until after you get hired. Somewhat deceptive? Maybe, but you need a job. They can't fire you for being pregnant after the fact but they can choose a "more qualified" candidate if you tell them at the interview. My mom was pregnant with me when she got hired and didn't tell them until after.

Thank you all! It is CNA work in a hospital but my doctor has cleared me to be okay and my mom thinks of it as lieing to them, I didn't agree with her. I feel bad for not telling them but at the same point I NEED a job!

I know you're looking for a job, but I think it's pretty crappy to keep that from them. If I were your new boss and then you told me I would be so pissed. I did HR stuff for a while and we hired some girls for seasonal work that were pregnant, and after they had their baby some came back and were hired on as regular employees. I just think it's deceptive. You don't want to start your job out having lied to them. At least I wouldn't.

Don't tell them - play ignorant. As much as they are not allowed to discriminate, most work places will - think about it from a company perspective would you hire someone who's going to be off in a few months and who you'll have to carry on paying and pay someone to cover their work?? Not ideal to 'lie' but I don't know anywhere that would hire a pregnant woman over a none pregnant woman...you wouldn't even have to tell your work so why tell someone you don't even work for yet??

I have a good job but I was looking into another opportunity.  Went for an interview, everything went very well and at the end I told them that I was getting married and planning to expand my family.  Before I had said this, they were talking about having me come back the following week or so.  I sent a follow up e-mail and literally never heard a word from them again.  I can only assume it was related but it ended up being better for me as I have sick time and job security that I wouldn't have had with the new job.  So, I was honest because I had nothing to lose but getting a job is important and unfortunately those hiring may discriminate against you knowing you are pregnant even though it's illegal to do so.  Good luck with the job search and I hope you find a place that will understand your position and growing family.
