From experience (with my new dirty ass apartment). If you have red bumbs on your body (picture below) and are itching a lot then its bed bugs. Also you can see bed bugs, they are usually in the crevices of the mattress. You can google bed bugs and they will show you what they look like. And those def arent it.

Bed bugs are normally so small that they can only be seen under the microscope. I'd say it's some fluff or dirt that has just simply ended up in your bed :)
