Christmas Gifts for Baby

I've seen some people writing that it's pointless to buy gifts for a baby for Christmas but for me...I don't see why. My daughter will be 9 months in December and we have bought only 4 toys since her birth. I feel like Christmas has made us have a reason to buy more toys for her age. Now, I don't think you should go crazy and buy expensive toys for a little baby, but that's me...but if you barely have anything what's the big deal? We plan on buying her one toy, each week until Christmas (each one under $25). I feel like that'll save a lot of money rather than going on some crazy shopping spree. I also am obsessed with researching them because there are so many toys that break super fast *cough* VTECH *cough*
