How long is too long to be engaged?

With few exceptions it should take no longer than a year to plan a wedding. I don't get these years long engagements. It's more like a promise ring at that point. My wedding was about 8 mos after I got engaged. If you get engaged you should be looking to set a date soon after or at least talking about venues and picking a date based on availability where you want to get married.

I've been engaged with my Fiancé for 2 years and mainly because we already feel like we're married and don't feel like spending a shit ton of money when we know in our hearts what's going on. There's nothing wrong with being engaged for a long time lol when we decide to drop down the money to make it all fancy and magical we will but as of now neither one of us are concerned with it lol my engagement ring is my wedding ring because I don't want any other. Call me a brat but hey, I'm happy 😊💜

I've been engaged for almost as long as I've been with my fiancé (5 years) and I don't see anything wrong with it but everyone else seems to..they say it's too long, however, I guess to each their own and it really depends on the couple and their relationship.

11 years here. He has also reproposed 3 times. I juat have no desire to be married... i don't see the point. For me its not important.. I never imagined getting married as a child... i go to weddings and feel like this is so stupid. I am not sure why I feel this way.. but I do.

I picked 4-5 years cuz it was the longest. 😂 I've honestly always loved the idea of a long engagement. And plan to be engaged for at least two years before I get married.
