My babies are here!!!

Alyssa
I went in for a regular NST appointment on Sunday, October 30, 2016. I kept feeling mild contractions, but thought that eventually they'd go away. Had my ultrasound done, and everything had came back normal for both of the babies. I then went back upstrairs to get hooked up to the monitors, still felt the contractions but thought that once again, it would subside. The machine picked up that I was having contractions 6 minutes apart. At that point I was pretty shocked, but refused to think I was actually in labor. The doctor came in and we where talking about discharging me and taking things easy.. before they did though they checked me, turns out I was already 5 centimeters dilated and had a "bloody show"!!! At this point I'm in shock. They start taking measures to get me into a room, my husband arrived with our 4 year old son, and my mother and father where there, I had everyone I needed. By around 7 pm they decided to break baby A's water, to get labor going a little faster. I was about 6 centimeters dialeted, so I asked for an epidural. It was by far the worst experience I've ever had with one. (Had one with my 4 year old and everything went perfect) The anestigiotlogist hit a nerve that made me have severe pain throughout my right leg. Felt literally like the worst leg cramp that I've ever had in my life. I didn't feel too confident that she knew what she was doing since she kept hitting that nerve, and asked someone else to take over, instead the older lady calmed me down and she proceeded to continue. Once everything was all done, I started feeling weird. I almost felt like I could've fallen asleep, and felt my chest, lips and tongue start getting numb. They raised me up from the position that I was in, and I felt better. Next thing I know, I started feeling really strong contractions on my left hand side. My legs weren't numb as they should've been & I shouldn't have been feeling any contractions at that point either, but I was literally drenched in tears. My nurse called her back up, and they then decided to put another epidural in. At this point I'm still feeling everything & am shaking from the pain. Next thing I know I start feeling like I have to push! They kept telling me to hold on, I'm assuming my obgyn wasn't there yet. My blood pressure dropped suddenly, so I was put on oxygen, and raced to the operating room (I wanted to deliver my twins vaginally, but just in case of an emergency and needed a csection, I was already where I needed to be). I gave birth to my son first, Alexander weighing at 4 Ibs 12 ounces. My obgyn then broke my water for my daughter, started me on pitocin thinking it would take me a while to push her out.. but I was ready to go, it didn't even have enough time for it to have gone in my system before I gave birth to Aurora, weighing at 5 Ibs 9 ounces. I felt every contraction, every push, and I'd do it all over again, for them 💕
