ADD...any experience?

Soooo, I just got diagnosed with ADD and we are trying to conceive. I won't go back to my OB any time soon...anyone have any experience trying to conceive while on adderall?

My husband has ADD and EF disorder. I don't know if your doctor explored options other than medications, but my husband was diagnosed three years ago and has been through therapy and used supplements, both helped immensely. Ultimately we did start him on medication recently, but if you are looking for ways to manage w/o medication, it is possible! Sending baby dust your way!

My doctor told me since there was no solid study saying there were risks it was okay to take while TTC but I should stop as soon as I found out I was pregnant. The drug goes straight through your system so there shouldn't be lingering effects. That being said, I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks, stopped taking it immediately and sadly miscarried at 5 weeks. I still wonder if taking it had anything to do with my miscarriage but I guess I'll never know for sure. It's really tough to go without but it makes me nervous to take it again while TTC

I was in the same boat. My OB strongly suggested going off of it. It can have many negative effects. I quit taking mine.

I got pregnant while on adderall. As soon as I found out I stopped taking it. It was sooo hard as I work night shift as a nurse but I knew my baby didn't need all that. I ended up having a miscarriage at 5 weeks. However I was also taking Nortriptyline (I stopped that too) for migraines and that's worse than adderall. Won't ever know what truly caused it but I'll stop it again when I get pregnant.

It's a schedule 2 substance which is like cocaine/morphine, and class c for pregnancy risk (meaning they can't rule out that it won't cause birth defects or worse). If you're able to not take it while ttc and pregnant that would be my suggestion
