I chose to get the shot in the hospital after I gave birth. It is a relatively new recommendation that all pregnant women should receive this shot in the 3rd trimester. Prior to 2013 it was contraindicated during pregnancy. They've now decided that the benefit outweighs the risks because of a resurgence of whooping cough. The idea is that some of the immunity will be passed thru the placenta and provide at least some protection for the baby until they can be vaccinated. They do do not know for sure if or how much immunity the baby actually receives from the mother getting the vaccine while pregnant. I am very much pro vaccines but chose not to be a Guinea pig on this one. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom at the moment so I had great control over who she was exposed to prior to receiving her vaccinations. Everybody's circumstances are different, for me the benefit did not outweigh the potential risks.

What is the point in getting it after birth? You get it while pregnant to protect your baby. They don't just advise and push this shit for no reason 🙄

I don't plan to. I'll just keep baby indoors and not let anyone breathe on her lol

In 32 weeks and got it a week ago and so far everything is well
