INSERT FOR CARSEAT?

I'm a FTM, and I would feel so much better if my baby had more head protection in her car seat. It doesn't have the little head flaps, and I was just wondering which one you guys recommend? Comment with picture if possible!

Adding anything isn't considered safe. The safest is to roll up recieving blankets

If it didn't come with the seat, you don't need it. It's the same theory as wearing puffy jackets in the car seat. It effects the safety.

I don't understand how an insert would be any different than if it came with the car seat..

You're not supposed to use anything else that doesn't come with the car seat. They are unsafe and voids the safety of the car seat. Check out the Facebook group, Car Seats for the Littles.

If I was told correctly if you add an insert the warranty is void. But I may be wrong.

I never heard of inserts being unsafe... so I used the boppy brand. It didn't interfere with any of the straps or anything. My girl was born 5lbs and the insert that came with our seat was way too big and didn't really help until she grew into it. Please check safety recommendations before taking this advice though, I'm a FTM too so I guess I was just uninformed.

It is actually safer to allow baby's head to turn side to side than to use pads that keep it from doing so. When a pad keeps baby's head from turning there is a greater chance that baby's head will fall forward which can make it hard for them to breathe. You can always just add rolled up receiving blankets AFTER baby is secured for added support just make sure there is nothing pushing the head forward.

Can you post a pic of your car seat and tell me what brand it is?

Get one that has the extra padding. Dont use an aftermarket one. It tells you not to use anything that didnt come with it if you read the manual.

You can to up a smaller blanket to keep the head from flopping side to side.
