nipple piercing and breastfeeding
Ok guys I need some advice and information. I've tried to look this stuff up, but I'm not really getting any answers I'm looking for. I got my nipples pierced in April of this year. I know they generally take 9-12 months to heal correctly if they are taken care of. My problem is I jumped the gun with hubby and started trying for a baby earlier than we originally planned, and got pregnant right away. My baby boy's due date is February 26. So I'll be about 10 months into my healing. Being that the piercing is less than a year old, what are the chances that either I could contract an infection, or that I could give one to my baby? Second question. Since they're not fully healed. What are the chances they will close up if I only take them out to feed, then put them back in. Third question. Would it be better/easier to pump and bottle feed? Last question if I were to pump and bottle feed, could I introduce bub to breast feeding when he's around 1 n a half months ( which would be a year with the piercings) or would he possibly reject it because he is used to the bottle? Please comment your experience if you have breast fed with piercings or have any suggestions/advice.
P.S. taking them out for good until finished breastfeeding is not an option.
