Cramping in lower abdomen

Is anyone else having this severe cramping around the lower abdomen and sometimes a pulling sensation in the anus? Been three days already, called the doctor's office and they told me it's probably round ligament pain. And I should call back if I have any bleeding.

I took acetaminophen every 6 hours, chugged down a jug full of water, had a warm soak bath and spent the rest of the day in bed resting, yet this burning sensations like I ripped my muscles keep coming at intervals. Hubby said it could be because it's our first so my abs are stretching out to make room for baby. It hurts so much. Please tell me it's normal.
