emotional abuse?

I wanted to know what you condsider emontional abuse. I have read a little about on line. Would you consider manipulation and lying to go along with emotional abuse? What would you count as an emotional abusive relationship?

I've been emotionally abused by my aunt when I was 12 up until I was 15. I just remember her talking down at me and constantly putting me down in private and in front of people. She also yelled at me a lot (she taught at the same school I went to so she gave me rides) because my grades weren't up to HER standards. The root of it was she made me feel bad about myself and she made me believe I really was stupid and couldn't do anything right. Now I'm 20 years old and I have social anxiety and I feel really nervous and scared when I'm in a situation where I'm being evaluated or under pressure.

So to my knowledge its just anyone that basically puts you down or hurts you. Name calling is a big one so if you are in a relationship that is like that you need to sit him down and talk to him to either cut it or find your self another man that will treat you like a queen. No woman should not settle for less
