black period for 4 days!!! help!!!

Ok so this has never happened before to me I just ended my period which lasted only 4 days which also is pretty normal since I have the implant for my BBC... but my period was really dark like black and thick the whole time I was on my period!! Should I consult my doctor? Has anyone ever had this happen to them?? What could it mean!?!? ☹️😔
