step mother in law issue

My husband step mom came to visit and I was telling her about my daughter just want mommy and get along more with females family members than male.. so she goes and said "maybe she is going to be a lesbian" if you are a lesbian don't worry grandma still loves you. She said that to my 4 month old baby . I'm super upset and ppl just telling me to let it go . I made my husband to write him a text msg about just happen and she apologized she didn't mean it ! It was just a joke. I don't think I'm overreacting or making matter bigger than it is . I did control myself but I don't think I will be able to take any comment or action from her without bothering me.
