Confirming pregnancy appt?!

I found out I was pregnant yesterday! Sooo excited and blessed! I can't stop testing lol. I called my OB and my first appt isn't till June 6th, when I will be almost 10weeks. Is it normal for them not to confirm pregnancy with a blood test right away? I have taken a ClearBlue test, clear blue digital, and 2 first response and all positive. But I just don't know what the "norm" is?! This is our first baby, so I am new to this. Lol​

I live in America and when I have gotten a positive pregnancy test I call my primary doctor first. They do the blood test to confirm and then another a few days later to check that my HcG levels are rising at a normal rate. Then I call my OB for an appointment.

I'm the same...even though I did have blood work to make sure my progesterone and hcg was rising, I won't have my first actual appointment until I'm 11 weeks but due to my doctor being on vacation the week I actually should go in...annnnd there's no appointment slots open any sooner : (

Same thing happened to me! Had my first appointment at 10 weeks. Crazy.... I was like don't you want to make SURE I'm pregnant? And they said their confirmation test is the same HPT as I took to confirm so no!

​Couldn't believe it. Just enjoy the first couple months if being pregnant and don't worry, you'll be able to see an actual baby at 10 weeks not just a gestational sac.

Same thing happened to me. I will be 8 weeks and a few days when I will finally have my first appointment on May 12. I was really shocked they didn't want me to come in to confirm.

With my son I went and saw my GP, and she refered me to the office that takes care of pregnant women and deliver the baby, I live in canada though, and I had a lot of blood tests done because we didn't know when I got pregnant because I was on the BCP and I have anemia so I was monitored closely.

With my first pregnancy, I made an appointment with my primary care doctor to confirm. She just did a urine test, and told me that next time I could just go ahead and schedule with my OBGYN right away, because my insurance plan didn't require me to confirm or something. Anyway, this time around they're having me come in early at 6 weeks because I miscarried before, but they said that normally they bring you in at 8 weeks for the first appt

Seems like it's pretty normal in America! Some women I talk to from other countries end up having earlier appointments. Also women with high risk pregnancies tend to have appts every 1 or 2 weeks!

​When I called to make my first appt, I was roughly 4 weeks. The OB coordinator asked if I had it confirmed by a blood test. I said no, but I took about 10 positive pregnancy tests. She acted like it was no big deal needing to have blood results. So she scheduled my first appt/US for 8 weeks. My patience is slowly wearing thin! It would be nice to have the pregnancy "officially" confirmed already! lol

I go to a large OBGYN group in Texas and they keep appointment spots open for women who need pregnancy confirmation.  My doctor said they want to see a woman within two weeks of a positive HPT, absolutely no later.

I got a BFP on Saturday and my OBGYN had me get bloodwork on Monday to confirm and another tomorrow to make sure my numbers are rising like they should. But I won't go in for an ultrasound until 7-9 weeks most likely. Which sucks because I'm SUPER impatient!! But I guess it depends on the doctor? If you're worried I'm sure you could request a blood test. It only takes 2 mins not a full appt or anything.

Congrats! I think it's pretty normal- my first appt isn't until 5/30 and they didn't tell me to come in for anything before then.
