Laser Hair Removal

So I'm 17 and I've basically got quite a hairy body, it's not like insane and you can't really see it unless you're up quite close but I still wanna get rid of everything. I've never waxed/shaved it because I guess I haven't really gotten the need to but I feel like it may be worsening (or I'm just paranoid) so I wanna get rid of it for good. I have a friend that got her body laser treated and she's had no side effects and it's been 6 months and no sign of hair. Is this what it's really like? I'm sorry, I'm just a little scared. Would you girls recommend it? Will it have any side effects? Am I too young? I felt like this was the perfect place to ask about this. Please don't judge me because I really am scared/confused.
