miscarriage or abortion - conflicting advice
I've been doing A LOT of reading since my miscarriage one week ago, to help me figure things out, including my plan for the future.
I found out about my missed abortion at 11 weeks, the baby had stopped growing at approx 6 weeks. I was given pills to force an abortion, which seems to have gone as expected - check up scan this week.
I've been wondering now, if the procedure I just had, is considered an abortion or a miscarriage (medically speaking).
The advice for woman regarding when they can have sex again is quite different depending on this. When I read advice for those who've had an abortion, it says you can have sex again straight away, even when still bleeding. Same topic in a miscarriage context, it says wait at least until after bleeding is done, or at least two weeks, reason being to avoid infection.
Why the different advice? Is it to protect woman who may not be emotionally ready?
This irritates me - just give us the accurate advice and let us decide what's eight for ourselves!!
