Birth ptsd (long)
Can you get ptsd from an emergency c section. Ill explain what happened so i went in friday the 28th to get induced and nothing happened i stayed the same only 2 centimeters for 30 hours and they decided to manually stretch my cervix and break my water insert a catheter in my uterus i was contracting at 70-80 intensity. Things were going well i was contracting at 90 and felt like i had to poop, sounds reassuring right... well she checked me and i was only a 2 1/2 but baby was so low she could feel hair! Around 36 hours at shift change the nurses were chatting in my room going over everything and 4 other nurses run in one starts calling people they told my nurse to turn on the monitor babys heart beat was 35 doctor came in checked me i was only a 3 he said i would be in labor another 14 hours minimum but i Wouldnt have a baby if we didnt deliver in the next 30 minutes at this time clothes are being ripped off me im being held down to put in my foley catheter getting wiped down and hair washed and cap put on boyfriend was handed scrubs and i was being ran down the hall. In the room anesthesia started to do the spinal but we didnt have time for the medincine that numbs your back first so i felt all the popping of the bones and i was laid down then she started freaking out cuz my iv was blocked without taking the tape off she ripped it out and trying in my hand couldnt get it so did it in the creese of my wrist. Then they started cutting before getting my boyfriend so i start panicking again and i look up and see the surgery light and see the doctor cutting me open and opening my stomach my boyfriend came in as the were vaccuming baby out. All we heard was "you have a baby boy!" And we just waited for him to cry it felt like forever it took about 5 minutes and he gave a tiny cry i felt so much relief they brought him to us after like 10 minutes i got to see my baby. I kissed him and got a picture (which got deleted) then he was taken away to the nicu. I didnt get him for 3 more hours. It was love at first sight then he started choking later in the night they took him to get suctioned he had a bunch of fluid in his belly this happened twice everything was going well the only thing we were told was he had jaundice so we had to come back the day after we were discharged and get his blood redrawn and ended up gettimg admitted to the peds floor he had to stay under the blue light blanket for 24 hours it broke my heart. He is home now and i keep having flash back of all of it. Could it be ptsd?
