Birth control and boyfriends

So my boyfriend and I were talking about sexual things and he said I should get the bar and I said no. I know he's just trying to keep me safe and prevent me from getting pregnant but I feel a little insulted because the pill and Condom should be enough I think but idk I'm just a little itritated and idk why. Would the bar make a difference if I'm already on the pill and using condoms?
