early pregnancy

Confused! I'm 6 weeks pregnant and had some light red bleeding yesterday, enough to fill a liner, didn't have any cramps though. Today I'm having some brown blood, does anyone know what could be the cause of this? I've tried ringing my doctor and Early pregnancy unit to get their advice but they've just told me to wait and see, my anxiety is so high right now.
