When did you start potty training?

When did you ladies start potty training your babies? I have a one year old and my husband ask me if I was planing to potty train him during summer. I feel that he is still little and I was planing to potty train him when he turns 2. When is the right age to start potty training?

It depends on when your child shows signs of being ready. You can try to push potty training on them, but if they're not ready and dont want to learn its most likely not gonna happen. There are many different signs that they'll show when they're ready, but being mamma you'll know your little one best and you'll be able to tell when the time is right so just go with your gut and good luck!

Boys do take more time than girls so I started them at 1 1/2 yrs old and they were both potty trained at 2 yrs or shortly after

My son took his first poop on the potty at 1 year 7 months. I was working so not able to work with him at the time as much as I wanted but the daycare he went to was really good about having them practice there as well.

My oldest was about 2 1/2. Took only a week. Never had an accident. They have to understand the concept first. My toddler is getting close to the age his brother was at. He has shown some interest but not really. I do see him progressing, though. Hopefully soon he will be ready!
