Self removal of iud

I've seen so many people have taken the mirena out by themselves at home. I am currently on mirena, and would love to have it taken out. Being Friday night, the doctors won't open till Monday, then is have to wait for an appointment. Has anyone on here taken it out? Is it pretty easy?
