FTM questions

Ok so I'm a FTM and I just want to know how it all works... I asked to be induced because I'm 40 weeks 2 days, just about 2cm dilated but I'm uncomfortable, tired and my grandpa is here from Florida only until Monday! I asked to be induced at my appt today and my dr said she won't be able to get me in until possibly this weekend if they have a free bed open she will call me and have me go right in. How come she can't just schedule it? And based on her saying that should I count on a phone call or not? Also before getting a cervix check today I did a urine sample and I was spotting some bloody discharge. I told dr when she came in to see me and she checked and said it's normal, but why would I be spotting??
