saying I love you

My boyfriend and I are expecting in less than 4 weeks we've been together for almost a year and we don't say I love you to eachother . It never really bothered me before but now I just always think about how different that is. my sister in law always tells me that's so wired your carrying his child and he still isn't told you he loves you . Anyone else ever been in a relationship where I love you wasn't said ?
