I was contacted by someone who I dated ten years ago and he has expressed regret and still seems to be interested in me. I'm married but we never got closure and I feel confusing emotions. He was someone who I wanted to be with but life drifted us apart and we never got to say good bye. I just want to express unresolved feelings and move on but I'm scared because of the unforbidden thoughts I'm feeling. What do you think? Have any of you had a similar experience? Please share whatever circumstances!

You're married and the other guy moved on... That's closure. Don't be tempted away. You're opening Pandora's box on the name of "closure" but that's just an excuse. Don't look for reasons to justify peeking out of your marriage. You are already having thoughts about this other guy that are inappropriate so meeting him in person is supposed to stop that?! What kind of logic is that. Remember your husband. Remember your vows. I'm pretty sure there wasn't a preamble "I will love you in sickness and health unless I run into my old boyfriend and try to get closure". This story has a sad ending so change it now.

Stay away! You've moved on & gotten married. What's done is done & after 10years there really is no reason to require closure - imagine of your husband was in the current position  you're in, you probably wouldn't want him dwelling on an ex (I know I wouldn't). For the sake of your marriage please stay away from him, any type of contact poses a risk to your life. As for your ex he can continue to cry himself to sleep, it's too little too late. You have a new life & he has & should never have a part in it. Be strong & please give him the flick, no good will come from this.

Talk to your spouse about it. If closure is all you're looking for then be open about it and get what you need.

If you're not comfortable with that idea, then you need to seriously consider how this will impact your current relationship and decide if it's worth it or if the past should stay where it is.

I did have an ex contact me about 3 years after we ended things, I was single at the time and we tried again, it ended far worse than the first time.

It's a very slippery slope you're treading. If you need closure, be open and honest with your husband about your communication with your ex. Otherwise, things could go south quick!

I've had this happen, and it actually destroyed my marriage.  Be careful, especially if you loved this person and if your spouse knows of him and your feelings for him.  Jealousy can arise fast.  Make sure you don't keep it from your SO if you do communicate with him.  Believe me, I know.

I get where you are coming from. If you want this closure you need to set boundaries for yourself. You say what you need to say and then close the door on that chapter of your life. If you let it linger or become more than you intended, then you really need to step back and reevaluate.

I had an ex that I couldn't get over for a long while. He called out of the blue after I got married. Thinking about us gave me butterflies but it wasn't because I still had feelings for him. It was because the memories of what we had and that was long gone. We made our peace with eachother and that was the end of it.

i wouldnt recommend telling your spouse  ..what man would be okay with their WIFE communicating with man she was once madly in love with ? Just put all your thoughts of this in the past you dont want to mess up your marriage for a man who waited 10 years to realize your worth .
