abstinence anyone?

Birth control method I picked abstinence because I'm waiting for marriage (under Gods law) and I have big goals to achiever first. Anyone else pick abstinence i'm curious what was your reason?

I haven't had sex yet and I'm 27. I choose to wait daily because even though I have known some great men I don't like to attach myself to people who aren't ready to be serious. Also I haven't dated anyone that I wanted anything more than a coversation from. I decided to abstain at a young age for religious reasons. But The older I get the more I think about having sex before I get married. Then I masturbate and I change my mind, 😂. It takes a lot of discipline to not have sex, but be honest with yourself about why your doing and it will make life easier. If you ever change your mind make sure it's you and not someone changing it for you.

It is not what I chose. And felt guilty the entire way.
Don't let anyone tell you ladies that you are silly, immature or childish for waiting until marriage. If you succeed, you are much stronger than any of us who spread our legs early. 
And if you decide that you can't wait until marriage after all, don't beat yourself up over that either. Life happens and things change. People change.

I could say that I chose abstinence but there's days when it feels like abstinence chose me.
I grew up in a Christian family so I was taught about waiting for marriage to have sex. I also grew up during the end of the "purity movement" so I was exposed to a lot of talks about true love waits. I have a high sex drive so I attended all the talks hoping someone, anyone, would satisfy my curiosity and tell me what sex was like. Of course, I didn't really know what it was that I was interested in knowing 🤔 Unfortunately I became very legalistic about sex. I think I have a genetic predisposition to anxiety and OCD so I obsessed about being righteous in the area of sexual activity and ended up making myself feel overwhelmingly guilty about masturbation. So much so that I went for seven years straight without any masturbation. I wanted a husband though. I have been wanting to be a wife to someone since I was six years old. I never had anyone romantically interested in me until I was 24. He and I have been together for 14 months now and would love to be intimate with each other but we stay abstinent. I don't think either of us have the right motives for staying virgins 🤔 He won't sleep with me because he hates to see me cry and feel guilty, which is bound to happen if we have sex. And I really want to have sex but the other half of me screams not to because I want to save it for my honeymoon and I don't want to dishonour my God. I hope you won't think badly of Christianity for my confession.... it's not the fault of the church that I am like this... it's a combination of factors. God knows how I feel about sex and He still loves me. His love isn't dependent upon what I do or don't do. Thanks for listening to me vent.

That's amazing. I'm definitely going to teach my children about abstinence. My mom didn't really talk to me about sex until I lost my virginity.im going to make sure my daughter shows importance in keeping her verginity

I do not think that a woman's worth is based on the fact that she does or does not have sex. I don't feel that one thing is better than another. It's a personal decision.

I abstained from sex until I was 26. I'm catholic and wanted to wait until I was in love with a person who I wouldn't regret sharing that with. My boyfriend at the time was incredibly patient and never pressured me, which I think is important - it was 100% my choice to start a sexual relationship. I married that man and haven't ever regretted my choice. I'm happy I've only ever been with him.  Sometimes people were surprised when I told them I was a virgin or that I've only ever been with one person, but I did what was best for me and my body. Always do what is best for you, no matter what anyone says ❤️

I chose abstinence! My (now ex) boyfriend of a year was very frustrated with it, but if you're strong willed and say "no" it works out.
I'm SO glad I'm waiting, considering he's an ex and he told me we'd be together forever so it was okay.

Stick with it, create boundaries for yourself and anyone who is pursuing you and be strict with them. Feelings are fleeting and in the heat of the moment you don't want to give into temptation. It will be hard especially when you know you love someone so much but it will be worth the wait and be the most beautiful gift you can give your husband. Don't let the world define sex for you because the world has got it all wrong. That's awesome ❤️

I chose abstinence until I got married as well! 26 years and absolutely worth it. Never had to worry about STIs, STDs, or pregnancy. ANNND if felt wonderful to have saved something so special for one man 😍 So glad I waited.
