Question about instead/soft/diva cup for AI

Hi,
My wife and I are going to try our first cycle of home AI next month. We have been researching methods and strategies for success. One method we have read about is using an instead cup to keep the sperm up near the cervix for 12 hours. We received some instead cups in an insemination kit that we purchased and were quite surprised at how large in circumference these instead cups are. Has anyone used these for the purpose of conceiving? I'm trying to comprehend how the sperm doesn't spill out as you insert it, even if it is folded - does it spill out? My concern is that we don't want to waste sperm by having it spill out while we are trying to insert. We are flying our donor out to us and only have two insemination tries over a period of four days - so it's crucial we don't waste these donations. I'm tossing up whether we are best just to deposit sperm as close to cervix as possible and stay laying down with hips inclined or whether we should give the instead cup a go. Any advice is much appreciated.
