Daytime sleeping/napping?

Not sure if I should let my baby sleep and just feed him when he wakes up on his own or should I wake him and feed him? I'm just scared he will sleep too much during the day and will be up at night. Currently he wakes up every 4 hours at night. He is 12 days old and weighs more than his birth weight. What do you guys do?

Baby needs to eat every 2 hours until baby gains back to birth weight. After that point you can let him/her sleep longer than 2 hours at a time, but I recommend keeping the "eat every 2 hours" schedule during the day to encourage the longer stretch of sleep (3-4 hours) at night! 😜

My ped recommended not letting baby go longer than 2-3 hours during the day. This isn't an issue for us since he's up every 2 hours. Even at night!

I made that mistake of trying to keep baby up longer in the day so she would sleep at night and it has the opposite effect it makes them so fussy and irritated they have a hrd time getting to sleep. If he's sleeping 4 hours at a time then let him baby's sleep that's what they do!

We've never woken either child.. We feed on demand. Our baby girl is 9lbs 5oz at 4 weeks (was 6lbs 11oz when we left the hospital) and growing like a weed with no issues!
