How much $ would you need to save to make moving worth it?

Expecting our first child and considering moving into a less expensive condo or apartment. But, moving can be such a pain in the @**. I'm not convinced that anything under $200/mo savings would be worth it but also want to aggressively work on that saving account this year before our baby is born...

Also keep in mind that moving in itself is expensive.  :(

The thing is, I'm not sure a move can be quantified just in how much you save a month. Will your commute be longer or shorter and how much money will that translate to? Do you like your neighbors now? Do you have a good relationship with your landlord?

We're looking at buying a different house in the next bit and we were dicussing the monthly difference between house A and B. My husband basically said, if $200 is going to make or break our budget than we shouldn't be in either of these places, we should be way cheaper. Kind of makes sense, I think if you're looking at $500 that's one thing but a couple hundred... Not so sure
