Is it a must to see High Risk Doctor with fraternal twins?

I am almost 19 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins and everyone keeps asking me if I am seeing a high risk doctor, I am not I am seeing a regular ob/gyn and feel quite comfortable with her as she has twins herself and deals with most of the twins in the practice. But I am wondering if I should just go talk to a high risk doctor for peace of mind?

I am 28 weeks with di/di girls and I only see a regular OB/GYN.

We were transfered to a high risk OB because we are expecting mono/di that share a placenta so higher risk. If they would have been fraternal or had two placentas we would have been seen by thr regular OB. We also have a midwife we started with before finding out we were having twins, but laws where we are (Ontario, Canada) specify you can't just have a midwife if you're having multiples.

No if you were high risk and your doctor thought you needed more expertise then you would be referred to a high risk doctor.

I'm pregnant with fraternal twin boys and I was told I'll be going to a high risk because I'm having multiples. My high risk doctor does all my ultrasounds and my OB just just checks on me every month. My high risk also runs all the tests too and did my anatomy scan.

If i didn't have gestational diabetes, I wouldn't be seeing the MFM. I am having di/di twin girls.

I think it really depends on your history and the type of twins ur having my twins are mono di and because of that I was considered high risk since they shared a placenta there was a lot of complications that can arise with that like ttts or taps I don't think if they are faternal twins have there own placenta and sacs if the the risk is the same

I'm seeing my regular OB/GYN who is very comfortable with the training and experience he has to care for me with twins. I have worked with him on my OB floor so I'm comfortable with him as well. He said that if he ever sees anything that is concerning to him he will send me to a MFM doc. 😀

I went to see the high risk doctor for full anatomy scans, babies looked healthy. Was informed that I only have to go back if there was a large variation in their weight. So far so good. Di/di twin boys.

I'm 29 and pregnant with twins. My 3rd pregnancy, no premature babies, no history of GD or complications. I am seeing a maternal fetal specialist solely bc I am still on medication for my autoimmune disorder...had that not been the case I doubt I would've been referred.

Is it a must to see High Risk Doctor with fraternal twins?
