Am i in the wrong for being downright angry that my MIL disrespected our wishes about our 8 mo old daughters feedings?

My mil took care of me and my husbands 8 mo little girl last night and gave her back to us this morning. We specifically told her we aren't starting her on cows milk til she's 1, and then it has to be vitamin d milk. She returned her to us with a 8 oz bottle of MILK and I thought it was formula because (silly me) I thought she'd respect our wishes regarding our child. Since she said the bottle was only 30 mins old I thought it'd still be OK if it was formula. So I gave it to her and she couldn't keep it down, so I smelled it and it smelled like it was straight up spoiled milk. Am I wrong for being angry?? She's trying to tell me its formula but I know the difference in smells between spoiled milk and spoiled formula. I'm not stupid. She always belittles me and tries to take charge and mother MY child. What should I do??!!

Regardless of the fact that you TOLD her not to do it and she should have listened, babies should not have cow's milk before age 1 anyway. I'd be pissed

Honestly, I would have went off on her. And that would have been the last time she watched my daughter by herself for a long time. She should respect your parenting.

No more babysitting privileges for grandma. She disrespected your wishes and Lied to you about it and put your baby's health at risk. There's a reason Dr says to wait till age 1, she could have been deathly allergic and you weren't around. Irresponsible grandma needs consequences, don't let her have any visits for a while, and no babysitting ever again.

Hold up, now. I freely admit to not having much experience with babies (except for having been one), but I know something about milk. "Only 30 minutes old"? For a baby? Am I missing something here, or is that as gross and risky as it sounds? I mean, room temperature milk at 30 minutes... Ew!

But I'll stop crying over spoiled milk. Look, if you KNOW that she understood your instructions and ignored them, yes, please get upset. That is your child and your MIL not only ignored your wishes (an awful precedent), but in doing so, she gave your daughter something that could have made her sick. If you know she did this knowingly, please do me and yourselves a favor: agree with your husband to NOT allow her to care for your child alone again. She's 7 months old and you had a specific instruction. Seems easy enough to follow, and her refusal to do so (again, assuming that she didn't somehow misunderstand) says that she doesn't respect your decisions. She's not a good person to care for your child.
