crib or bassinet or both !?

Question

How many of you used a bassinet ? Or did any of you just put the baby right in the crib the first day? Or did you have both a bassinet and crib? I'm looking into bassinets and I know that it will only be used a short amount of time and they are expensive ! Thinking about possibly borrowing one from a friend or looking into used. Just afraid about the safety of used bassinets. Not sure that I want to put the baby in the crib from day one since I plan on breast feeding. Thoughts are appreciated ! Thanks !

We are using the graco pack n play with bassinet attachment for the first little while and then moving baby to a crib.  This way the pack n play isn't a waste of money because you can use that for a long time even once baby is in the crib.

Crib from day one. We keep it in our room. She sleeps fine in it in a swaddle.

I have both. Baby boys crib in his nursery which is on the second floor and then I got him a bassinet for the living room which is downstairs on the first floor. That's where he'll be sleeping during the day. My parents even got me my old bassinet for my bedroom which is on the third floor. So baby boy has one crib and two bassinets lol

I used a cradle beside my bed for the first 6 months and then when she started sitting up we switched to the crib. I'll be doing the same with this baby also.

I have a bassinet downstairs and a crib in the room so visitors are not roaming the house or tracking stuff into the room..

We have a pack n play at the foot of our bed. The crib is in her room for when we transition her from ours. The pack n play provides longer term function than a bassinet that's why we went that route.

Both. The crib is in the nursery which is on the second floor and the bassinet is in the living room which is on the first floor. I know a lot of people get a pack and play but I personally think that looks trashy and wouldn't want one in my living room

I bought a bassinet with my son and ended up having to get a crib later so if your capable of both then get both if not just get a crib my son only used his bassinet till he was 6 months
