Do all hair straighteners work the same?

I feel like almost all hair straighteners work the same. I could be wrong. I was thinking about buying a chi straightener from Marshalls that was originally $100 but now selling for aroun $40-$50. My question is , is it worth it to buy higher quality hair straighteners.

I highly recommend the CHI! I've had mine for 6 years and it still works as if it did on day 1! Make sure you get the thermal spray to protect your hair from the heat though, CHI also makes that & I love it.

I have always used Chi since trying one! Before I used the cheap ones and I can definitely tell a difference!

Some suck some dont. I prefer the one I got from walmart because it gets super hot. Not sure the brand. Coming from a girl who straightens her hair every day, it does matter 100%. The hotter the better. If you have thick long hair get a wide one. Short thing hair get a thin one.

CHi is excellent... But dont buy it at Marshall's.  Its a salon product and would never be sold there, which means its a knockoff, an old return, or something. CHI would never retail in a non-salon store. Same goes w any real salon exclusive brand

I tried a Chi and it didn't get hot enough to straighten my hair. I had a John Freida one that I had for almost 6 years and it was the best thing ever! I still have it but I bought a Nume for $20 at TJ Maxx and that's the only one I use now.

Every Chi I have ever owned died at about the year mark. I now have a Babyliss that I've had for at least 4 years. It was about $120 but it has been great!

Go with the Chi. I had a cheap $20 straightener from target and my hair was never actually straight after using it. I'd have to go over the same area multiple times before it even looked somewhat straight. I bought a chi and it worked amazing! My hair is super thick so it would usually take well over an hour to straighten, but with the chi, it took a little less time because it worked so well. I was also able to curl my hair with my chi straightener and the curls would last for days. It's definitely worth the price you pay!
