Should I become a part time student next semester? Advice please.

Ok ladies. I will be a single mother, my father has early on set dementia, I'm working a part time job, and I'm a full time student in college. Ladies, I can't handle everything. I have fallen behind in school. Should I become a part time student? It feels like that would relieve some pressure because I feel as if I'm about to explode. Advice?

My sister in law had to go part time at school as a single mom. Better to be successful in what classes you take then do too much and set yourself up for failure. Newborns are a lot of work to start.

Yes- I am college advisor and i always advise students that have a lot going on to reduce their class load. Don't quit but definitely go part time or 3/4 time if u can. If all you can handle is one or two classes then take those classes and do well in them. You can always increase your class load when you are ready or when your life allows for it. Good luck!

I did this as a sophomore in college with a one year old and it was a great move. It's good to scale back a bit and regain control over your grades and move back up to a full mood but by bit. So a couple semesters I did two classes and then got back up to four. My last semester I even took six. I finished in 5.5 years. Good luck!
