So a friend of mine (i've known her for 20 years, but it's been an on and off friendship) has been texting me about doing a baby shower for me at my mom's church. She attends midweek service, but otherwise doesn't attend, whereas I used to be a member since I was 8 and stopped going the last few years. She's saying that her and the pastors daughter want to plan this, but I only ever hear from her about this. My mom and several other ladies at the church haven't hears anything about this shower that's supposedly in 2 weeks. What makes this awkward is that her and I fell apart after my wedding last year and we really haven't spoken since. Once she found out we're having a baby shower for family only, that's when this started. I'm not really sure what to make of this, but it's kinda awkward for me and my mom too since she still goes to that church.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to handle this??? Not too sure if it's rude to decline them throwing us a baby shower...
