Right rib pain... suggestions for pain??

Hey December mommies. Is anybody else having a pain in their right rib. It almost feels like a bruise. Doctor says its normal but is there anything that could help. This is my first time being pregnant and finding it hard to sit or sleep comfortably with this pain.

Yes for me it's a torn muscle that cannot heal because of the pressure of my big belly. I'm short (5 ft)with a short torso. It's pretty much excruciating at this point. I have to lay and rest a lot and can't be on my feet for more than 30 min before needing a rest.

I just went to L&D at hospital last night for same thing. Feels like there are bruised from the inside ? Doctor and nurse said it is normal, however they took my blood to make sure liver was functioning properly, so I'd ask doctor about that. It's normal especially if you aren't as tall ... not as long a torso (like me) easier it is for baby to kick and jab at ribs..or it could be how he's positioned maybe ? I know how you feel though :& nurse just told me to take Tylenol extra strength when it hurts

Yes sounds normal. What I have done to help alleviate the pain is a yoga type stretch. Get down on your hands and knees and spread your knees a little wider that should width apart. You butt should be on your feet or close to them. Stretch your arms out in from of you on the floor. This also helps with lower back pain too.

Its normal because the baby is up in there. I'm not sure there is anything to do. Try sitting up straighter because ed know when I slouch, it hurts more.

I'm having the same thing and it sometimes feels numb in places under my ribs!
