VBAC or second c section?

Hi everyone 
My partner and I were talking today about having a second child (not for a while yet!) I had to have a c section with my daughter as she was breech. I'm wondering whether or not to have another section or a VBAC when I fall pregnant again (God willing...)

I'd be extremely grateful for any advice you ladies may have :)

I had a c section with my almost 4 yo twins and VBAC with my 5 mo son. I'm happy and gratefull I got to experience a natural birth (no meds). It felt good to be able to do it. Also, I held my baby for the first hour skin to skin. The twins almost immediately went to the neonatal. If labor starts by itself and progresses nicely I think vbac is the better option.

I had a VBAC this time and omg the difference it made! Within the hour, I was walking around with my baby. I went home and we started life right away! No waiting around for healing and you don't get nearly as exhausted in the beginning since your body isn't working hard trying to repair from major surgery. It was an entirely different experience and soooo wonderful.

My son was breeched also so I had no choice but to have a c section. I'm going to try and do a VBAC if the doctors recommend it for my second (not pregnant yet or anytime soon lol). If my second child is also breeched then I have no choice lol.... the c section healing was horrible for me 😭😭

Usually for breech if you wait long enough (12-18 months) you won't need another csection unless baby is breech again. They will most likely encourage a vbac.

My oldest was born natural, second was csection. (11 yr gap) So my third would be Vbac. I was in labor for 30 hrs, then wished away to have another csection because I stalled at 6. Once I was opened up the dr found out I had so much scar tissue from my last csection that may be what stalled me out. I was happy that I had tried at least.

Following.my girl was breech too & we had just finished the Bradley method for a gruff free birth. I never even felt one contraction & feel robbed of the experience. On the plus side my baby was 10.5lbs with 99%ile head & im small

Most doctors don't want you to do a vbac after c sections. Depends on your body and what's best for you and baby. I labored for 26 hours with my first born, almost fully dilated but he got stuck and his heart rate dropped dangerously low. I almost lost my baby. Come to find out, my bone structure is too small. He was only 6lbs 13oz. I wish I would have known this before. So we had a scheduled c section with my daughter (she came a little early but still c section). My mom had the same issue with my brother 33 years ago. They broke her tailbone and pelvis during his birth. If I could have done a vbac, I think I would have gone for it only for the purpose of going through both experiences. Recovery was great though for both of mine. I was up and moving pretty quickly. No regrets.

Me personally I would choose a c section again. I labored for 27 hours and had 3 hours of pushing...and two failed forceps attempts...all to end in a 5 min non emergency c section! My doc decided it was too small for my girl to pass through. (Um did he not notice that all the times he was up in there before!! Lol) I wouldn't change anything about my labor and delivery now but I probably would have been nice to aviod all that and have a scheduled c section. I had a great recovery too so I would def go for 1 again if given the option!

With the complications that came about while before and during labor with my son, we are pretty sure we will go c section again for our next baby. Dr. sent us to L&D due to my bp elevating and protein 12 days before due date. Then our son stopped progressing thru canal at 8cm, his heartrate was close to 190bpm my temp spiked and the dr and us decided section was best and safest option. Hope this helps.

You sound exactly like me, I have one daughter and she was breeched so I had a c section. God willing will have a second, and will choose a C section
