How to know if you tore a vaginal stitch?

I only needed half a stitch, I'm not sure how long they take to dissolve. I'm 3weeks and 3days PP, I was done bleeding 3 days ago I thought I just had brown left over blood coming out. But these couple days I've been bleeding a lot more. I'm not sure if I started my peirod or if I ripped a stitch? I'm calling my doctor tomorrow but I want to know how you knew your stitch ripped?

could be if you're doing too much activity. I would get a little bleeding spell if I did too much after the majority of my bleeding stopped at 2 weeks. you could always call and ask and see if they think it needs to be examined or not

I still had my stitch at my 6w check up. She told me it can take up to 3m to totally dissolve. Unless you had sex or used a tampon there's no way you tore the stitch!

I only need 1 stitch after my last delivery & when I went in for my 6 week postpartum check up it was still there.

You can bleed up to 6 weeks, as long as it isn't heavy bleeding. The stitch should have devolved already
