Cuticle Infection

So my cuticle on my left hand ring finger has become slightly swollen, red, and very painful, the very corner has also turned slightly yellow. I've soaked it in hot water a few times today but I was wondering if theres anything else I can do to help it or soothe the pain? Please help!!
