Has anyone gone from closed cervix to full blown labour?

I'm currently 39w4d and was checked today and soft but closed. Was given an induction date for 41w0d and wondering if I have a good chance still of going into labour naturally before then? Anyone else been in a similar position? 💕

I haven't, but I've heard plenty of stories of this happening.. I've been dilated 3-4 cm since 34 weeks.. Currently 38.. Dilation is NOT an indicator of when labor will start.

I had a completely closed cervix and was scheduled for an induction. The day of my induction I went in for blood work and had flu like symptoms. I felt so sick. I went home and got worse I was so scared they were going to cancel my induction. I went back to the hospital for my induction that night and I was in active labor at 4 cm dilated. I stayed like that through the night till about 9 am then I went to six and then at 2 pm I was at 9 cm and wouldn't dilate anymore then had her via c-section at 3.

With one of my kids I got to the hospital I wasn't dilated but within the hour he was out. They kept telling me there was no way I had to push and I damn near had him on my own in my room Cuz the doctor couldn't get there quick enough.

Yeah, I was fully closed but lost my mucus plug. 4 days later she was here. I was 38 weeks 3 days

Yes with both my kids I was closed and delivered vaginally. I was induced with both, one at 40w and just had a baby yesterday at 37.5w.

Yes read my post I went from nothing to something and yes it took 40 hours and towards the end they were pushing a c section on me because I caught a fever but I stood strong and told my doctor that I wanted to push (because I could feel my body was ready to push) and he allowed me to. Our bodies are meant to do this make sure you advocate for yourself and your baby. C section should only happen if absolutely nessecary. Make sure the people standing with you are completely supportive of you and you can do it!
