Vitamin D drops for breastfed babies?

Do you give your breastfed baby the Vitamin D drops that the doctors recommend? How did/does your baby react to them? I have heard it can cause constipation?

Yes, no constipation. It is literally one tiny drop, once/day. I also still take a prenatal.

My pediatrician recommended vitamin D shots. But I be doing an awful job giving them to my baby cuz I keep forgetting about them smh.

I gave them to my babe & she was just fine. Keep in mind depending on where you live & how much sun you get will determine if you need them. Also BM does not contain any vit d as most people don't have enough themselves

I don't give drops. They are not needed if mom is getting enough

OMG! I bet that's what wrong my LO!! Thank you ladies! I've been giving my baby the enfimil kind and he is so gassy! I'm gonna switch and see if that's why!

We started them when my baby was a few weeks old and the Enfamil brand gave her horrible gas and tummy aches so we stopped..she was miserable! I've heard the Ddrops are better so I'm hoping these don't bother her little tummy.

I give them daily! No problems, deffinitely no constipation.

I give it to my baby, not everyday.  Not on purpose tho....I just forget.  But I do notice that it can make her poops a little mucus-y and sometimes dark little flecks....as soon as I go a couple days without they go back to normal.

You can also take the vitamin d yourself, and it'll pass on to the baby. Maybe that could help.
